Love wearing lip gloss, but want more staying power? Here are a few lip gloss tips to help make it last!
Tip: Lightly exfoliate your lips with a gentle scrub.
Lip gloss will adhere better to smooth lips! Try using Fresh Sugar Lip Polish, a sweet treatment that leaves lips feeling soft. This formula is enriched with real brown sugar crystals to gently buff away dry flakes. It nourishes the lips with the oils of meadowfoam seed, jojoba seed, and grapeseed while shea butter provides long-lasting moisture. A great treat for the lips!
Tip: Use a lip concealer.
Lip concealer provides a longer wear to any lip color and makes for a smoother application. Using a lip concealer can ensure the lip shade you use will be true to color when applied. I like using the Sigma Beauty Lip Concealer in the shade Lose the Halo. This lip concealer has has a creamy and blendable finish which helps gloss stay put longer.
Tip: Fill in lips with liner.
Start by lining your lips and then completely fill them in with lip liner. This will create a base for your lip gloss and provide more staying power. As your gloss wears off, you will still have color underneath. You can get a similar effect by using a matte lipstick or lip stain. Givenchy Lip Liner glides onto lips without feathering and provides a precise line. This liner is enriched with vitamin E, which protects lips while skin conditioners retain moisture.
Tip: Apply a lip primer.
A lip primer locks down lip color and prevents fading, bleeding, and creasing. You can apply Too Faced Lip Insurance Lip Primer over the lips to promote suppleness. This formula glides on smooth for maximum staying power. Your lip gloss will not feather, fade, or transfer. Love this! ♥
Tip: Choose an opaque lip gloss.
Opaque lip glosses tend to stay on longer than sheer ones. The secret with opaque lip gloss is to dab it on the center of the lip and then close lips lightly. The Sigma Beauty Individual Lip Gloss Collection is gorgeous! These lip glosses contain an opaque, smooth and creamy finish and are paraben-free! My favorites: Sheila (hot pink with shimmer), Tint (rosy blush), Get Ready (peachy gold), Hint (gorgeous taupe), Tranquil (ruby spice), and Eleven (purple orchid).
Tip: Tie your hair back.
I know, this is such a funny tip, but it works…especially on a windy day! 😉 I just love these Ombre Seamless Hair Ties from the Sephora Collection. They come in a variety of colors and will definitely do the trick!
I hope you’ve enjoyed these lip gloss tips. Test them out and let me know what you think!
