Beach Day Makeup

Beach Day Makeup

Hi Loves, I filmed this Beach Day Makeup Tutorial before Summer and finally had a bit of time to edit! Better late than never I suppose. 🙂 My friend Sandy came over and I created this simple makeup look for the beach or the pool. This look is light and wearable, perfect for the hot Summer weather! I wanted to keep the foundation natural and light looking, so I used Make Up For Ever Water Blend Foundation. I love it because it looks like real skin when applied. To warm up Sandy’s face, I used the Too Faced Sun Bunny …

Lip Gloss Tips

Lip Gloss Tips

Love wearing lip gloss, but want more staying power? Here are a few lip gloss tips to help make it last! Tip: Lightly exfoliate your lips with a gentle scrub. Lip gloss will adhere better to smooth lips! Try using Fresh Sugar Lip Polish, a sweet treatment that leaves lips feeling soft. This formula is enriched with real brown sugar crystals to gently buff away dry flakes. It nourishes the lips with the oils of meadowfoam seed, jojoba seed, and grapeseed while shea butter provides long-lasting moisture. A great treat for the lips! Tip: Use a lip concealer. How To Get Perfect Brows

Hi Loves, Let’s talk about how to get perfect brows! 😉 When doing a makeup application on myself and clients, I always spend time working on the brows. Why you ask? Eyebrows are one of the most important features of the face, as they frame the eyes. Without a good frame, there will be no focus to beautiful eyes and gorgeous eye makeup. Tip: The beginning of the eyebrow is determined by the inner brow line, which extends from the tear duct upward.  This means that any unwanted stray hairs past that point should be cleaned up. Be sure to use …

Makeup Tip – Soft Smokey Eye

Hi loves! Want your eyes to pop, but don’t want the harsh black eyeliner look? Create a soft smokey eye by using this makeup tip. Tip: Sans that eyeliner for a softer look!  Under the eye, sweep a light brown eyeshadow from outer corner to inner corner. Then carve a darker brown eyeshadow from outer corner to just to the middle. This technique will enhance the eye, provide a simple smokey effect, without the raccoon eyes. See photo below of the makeup I did on model Lexi for reference. Enjoy! ♥ Debra Johnson Makeup Artist Orange County, California Don’t forget …

Makeup That Glistens

Hi Everyone! I recently did a photoshoot with gorgeous model Mikara (image below). She’s from New Jersey, just like me, so of course, we were instant “besties”. 🙂 Moving on to the point: The photoshoot took place on location, outside in direct sunlight. As the Makeup Artist, I really wanted her makeup to catch the light just right to make it glisten. Knowing that these images may be produced in both color and black and white, I chose a gold eyeshadow with a hint of shimmer to achieve this effect. Next, I applied a tinted moisturizer and skipped the powder …

Tip For Glitter Lovers!

When you see glitter and pigments, do your eyes light up like a little kid in a candy store? Mine do! 😉 Love sparkly makeup, but not exactly sure how to apply these products? Is your face and bathroom counter covered with shimmer afterward?

Even in the winter we need to protect our skin! ♥ Debra Johnson Makeup Artist Orange County, California Don’t forget to share, and comment!

Lash Tip!

Lash Tip! Want to wear those gorgeous lashes to your next holiday party? Use this tip: Before applying lashes, let glue become tacky. This will allow a smooth quick application and the lashes will stay put. ♥ Debra Johnson Makeup Artist Orange County, California Don’t forget to share, and comment!

Makeup Tip-Oil Control

Oily? To control shine, try using MAC Oil Control Lotion. Pair this with a sheer blot powder and blotting papers. Apply in the T-Zone area of the face. ♥ Debra Johnson Makeup Artist Orange County, California Don’t forget to share, and comment!

Makeup Tip-Layer Mascara

Layer Mascara! Love your lengthening mascara, but it’s not waterproof? Try layering your mascaras! Start by using Plushblack from MAC. This is the ultimate mascara. It lengthens and plumps your lashes. Then use Splashproof Lash from MAC over the first coat. You then have full, luscious, and water protected lashes! ♥ Debra Johnson Makeup Artist Orange County, California Don’t forget to share, and comment!

Makeup Tip-Concealer

Apply concealer after foundation. This way, you conceal what the foundation has not. Remember to go with less under the eye. The heavier the under eye makeup, the more likely it is to crease. ♥ Debra Johnson Makeup Artist Orange County, California Don’t forget to share, and comment!
