Hourglass Vanish Foundation Stick First Impression
Hi Loves,
I finally purchased the Hourglass Vanish Foundation Stick at Sephora! I wanted to let you knew what I thought of this foundation, so I filmed a Hourglass Vanish Foundation Stick First Impression video. On the Hourglass website it stated that this is a foundation and concealer in one. This concentrated formula contains double the amount of pigment versus traditional foundations for instant coverage in one application. It’s long wearing, waterproof formula provides 12 hours of coverage. It’s innovative formula adjusts to your body temperature to effortlessly blend into the skin. Available in 26 shades to perfectly match every skin tone. It’s vegan and contains .25 OZ. I purchased this foundation for $46 at Sephora.
While I was on the Hourglass website, I watched a tutorial on how to apply this foundation. I tried out their method, but I needed to apply much more product than what they suggested. On one side of my face I blended the foundation out with a Beauty Blender. On the other side of my face I used the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush. With the Beauty Blender I got a lighter coverage than with the brush.
I noticed that this foundation is very soft and started to lose it’s triangular shape. So my tip would be to apply this really light to the skin with minimal pressure. At first I wasn’t really sure what I thought about this foundation when applying it. It did stick to one of the dry patches on my cheek. Perhaps if I used a hydrating primer, this would alleviate the issue. If you are dry, I would recommend exfoliating first and using a hydrating primer. If you are oily, try setting this foundation with a powder.
As I wore the foundation throughout the day it started looking better, which is strange to me. I’m guessing it started mixing with the warmth of my skin. Maybe that’s what the website meant by “formula adjusts to your body temperature”. I check the foundation at the end of the day. I’m dry combination skin type. Usually I’m oily in the T Zone and my foundation breaks up on my chin. This didn’t happen. The foundation didn’t move! Note, I didn’t set this foundation with a powder.
Overall, I give this foundation a thumbs up. I thought it was very nice. I love the shade range, especially because this Hourglass Vanish Foundation Stick matched my skin pretty well. As a pro makeup artist, I’m considering adding this to my makeup kit. I work on so many different skin tones, I think this foundation would be great to work with on set.
