Colored Mascaras

Testing new products and keeping up on the latest makeup trends is something I love doing as a Professional Makeup Artist here in Orange County, CA. Lately, I’ve been seeing colored mascaras being used to intensify the eye. Yves Saint Laurent produced a new shade called Indiscreet Purple for the launch of Volume Effet Faux Cils BabyDoll Mascara. By now everyone must have seen the video of Gossip Girl’s Jessica Szohr’s photoshoot for Sobe’s new Lifewater ad campaign. She looks amazing! Here is how to get her look! First use a nice light weight moisturizer; try MAC’s Studio Moisture Fix. Once moisturizer is dry, apply a liquid foundation evenly on the face. Dust a light powder over the foundation to seal. Use MAC eyeshadows in Malt, Soft Brown, Brun, and Vanilla on the lid. Line top and bottom of the eye with a black eyeliner pencil. Smudge the undereye liner with a q-tip to give that light smokey …

Working as a Makeup Artist in Orange County, California, I’m always reading fashion magazines to check out the latest makeup, hair, and wardrobe trends. I ran across this great photo of Leighton Meester in the latest issue of Allure Magazine. I just absolutely loved the makeup and thought you would too!
